Self-Study Guidelines For Doctoral & Postdoctoral Programs

Programs seeking initial accreditation by ComACC must contact the Vice President and Chair of Program Evaluations at ComACCAdministrator@myadlm.org to obtain the ComACC New Program Application Form. This form must be completed and reviewed by ComACC prior to the development and submission of an initial accreditation self-study document.

A self-study is required for institutions seeking accreditation or re-accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation in Clinical Chemistry (ComACC). The process of self-evaluation is an effective mechanism through which fellowship programs may identify their strengths and weaknesses. The self-study is a comprehensive assessment of the program that will allow ComACC to ensure the fellowship is meeting the Standards for Accreditation, which can be found at: Standards and Guidelines for Postdoctoral Programs in Clinical Chemistry.

The following areas should be addressed in the self-study:

  1. Cover Letter
  2. Fellowship
  3. Perspective
  4. Program Organization
  5. Faculty
  6. Institutional Support and Facilities
  7. Laboratory Facilities and Test Menu
  8. Curriculum
  9. Trainee Selection
  10. Evaluations
  11. Trainees
  12. Self-Study Submission

Please review the detailed descriptions below and submit your cover sheet and self-study online. Contact the ComACC Administrator at ComACCadministrator@myadlm.org with any questions or issues.
